What does feminism fight for?

Updated: Jul 19, 2020

Feminism is a social movement and ideology that fights for the political, economic, and social rights for women. The feminist movement has fought for many different causes, such as the right for women education, the right to work and earn, the right to vote, and the right to live free from violence.

There are thousands of people who believe in equal rights but finds feminism a word that doesn't align.

Men and women are already equal, right? though women have suffered a lot in the past century, there is still discrimination in many areas. Here are some statistics to think about:

  • Women working full-time earn on average  17.5 %  less than men working full-time.

  • Women are 50% of the population but make up only 26% of representatives.

  • All around the world women have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.

FEMINISM IS ALL ABOUT STANDING UP AND FIGHTING FOR RIGHTS
